the INOCULAN home directory on the server.
2. From the InocuLAN server console, select Configuration, then Update
Virus Signature.
3. Repeat steps 1-2 for each InocuLAN server.

Automatically Updating InocuLAN servers and workstations:
---------------------------------------------------------------
InocuLAN's update utilities SUPDATE and AVUPDATE can be used to
automate the server and workstation file updates.
SUPDATE
This utility can be used to distribute InocuLAN files from one server
to several other servers.
To do this, select one server to act as a source server and manually
update this server as detailed above. Then copy all of the updated
files provided with this distribution to the InocuLAN directory on that
server.
Files that are identified in the SUPDATE.DAT file will be copied to
the servers you select when you run SUPDATE.
Servers will automatically load the new signatures into memory if the
Enable Signature Files AUTO Update option is enabled. If enabled, the
last menu item in the InocuLAN console Configuration Menu will read
"Disable Signature Files AUTO Update".
Servers that have the AUTO update option disabled can manually load
the new signatures into server memory after the server has been
updated via SUPDATE by selecting the Configuration then Update Virus
Signature options from the InocuLAN console.
AVUPDATE
This utility can be used to distribute files from InocuLAN servers
to InocuLAN workstations. All files that are identified in the
AVUPDATE.DAT file are copied to the directory on the workstation
defined by the InocuLAN environment variable.
In order to use AVUPDATE, the files to be distributed must reside
in the InocuLAN directory on the server. SUPDATE (see above) can be
used to distribute files to all of your InocuLAN servers.

New Features in InocuLAN 4.0 for NetWare!
1. Novell NDS support.
2. New virus detection technology with industry leading
virus detection rates (certified by the NCSA to detect
100% of viruses in the wild).
3. Use of Virtual Device Drivers (VxDs) under Windows 3.x
& 95 - which use far less system resources then the TSR
technology used by Inoculan 3.0 and by most other anti-virus
products.
4. Far simpler installation and setup - now with remote
installation (feature to be included in new AVUPDATE in the
June 3.18 signature file update).
5. Signature files are now updated monthly.
6. Able to scan compressed files.
7. Server Based Critical Disk Backup - critical disk files
such as the boot sector, the partition table and the CMOS
are backed both to floppy and to the server. Now computers
can be restored even if the rescue disk has been lost - and
server based restoration is extremely fast and convenient.
InocuLAN is one of the only anti-virus products with
critical disk protection and the only product with server
based protection. Using InocuLAN's new AVUPDATE technology
(to be included in the June 3.18 signature file update),
administrators will be able to remotely update critical disk
information.
8. InocuLAN Server Auto-Reload - When changes to Inoculan
are distributed as part of the signature file, Inoculan will
automatically distribute those changes. Administrators can
even unload and reload InocuLAN from all their servers at
one time to incorporate any new patches of features.
9. Centralized workstation scan record report.
10. New Avupdate software to automatically distribute signature
updates for DOS, Windows 3.x and Windows 95 and Windows NT
clients. The new AVUPDATE utility can also be used to remotely
install InocuLAN and to remotely update server based critical
disk information.
11. WinWord Macro virus detection capability (Macro Virus
Analyzer).
12. Polymorphic Analyzer to increase virus detection rate.
13. No longer uses SAP (Service of Advertisement Protocol)
which reduces network traffic.
